Best 3 Days of Basketball

Well the best three straight days of college basketball just went by (with the exception of last year's ACC tournament). Tuesday was #1 Illinois vs #19 Wisconsin... normally I wouldn't care (not my conference), but I got good friends loyal to each school, and it was a wild and very close game.

The next night was a masterpiece... Maryland taking down #2 duke. For those who don't know, MDer's HATE duke with a passion. Beating them at their house is what we LOVE. I can't say I expected it, but the Terps love to upset (reference MD beating FSU in football last season). Beating duke was a moment of pure joy in our otherwise lackluster season. I heard there was a game watch set up at Cole Field House back on MD campus, I can only imagine how crazy that was.

So as if that game couldn't be matched, the next night #21 GA Tech hosts #5 Wake Forest, and me and some friends attended. As with the MD-duke game, my expectations for a Tech win were not high, considering we had just lost 3 ACC games in a row, even to VA Tech. But somehow Tech got off to a running start.. the score was 20-5 Tech, then 34-17 Tech. It was unbelievable. Of course Wake came back like any top 5 team should, and ended up sending it to OT. By the way, the score at this point is 98-98 and with all the fouls it has easily been 2.5 hours by now. Yada yada yada, Tech wins 102-101 even in the face of ridiculously bad calls by the refs.. kids storm the court, etc. It was an emotional game... one of the best I've been to.

So now we have Tech playing Maryland at Maryland this sunday at 5:30. This should be a great game. I am of course rooting for MARYLAND, and want vengeance for Tech wupping MD in football. GO TERPS.

Neglect

I know I don't update this thing as often as I used to... to be honest I just remembered I even had this when I looked at my profile to put my movie list on it. My movie list will contain over the next month, the movies that I have rented on my blockbuster movie pass (free rentals for a month for $14.99). So far nothing special has been rented except Harold and Kumar (which was hilarious), and a documentary on how Fox News is not fair and balanced.

So the first couple weeks of the Spring Semester here at GA Tech have been boring as hell... as far as school goes. My classes are very hard to even sit through, let alone pay attention. Yet I still decided to add an extra class to my schedule beyond what I needed for some reason... I guess I felt like I didn't have enough to do. We'll see if regret that later in the semester. And added that extra class may in fact have an unintended benefit, because of my possible new degree goals.... ill explain later.

As far as social life goes, its been fun. Thanks to Rebecca's gift for organizing social itineraries, we all spent one saturday at this winery tour north of ATL and then hit up Vision night club that night. Maybe I'll post 1 of the like 300 pictures that were taken that night due to drunk people having cameras. We are all trying to get some Spring Break plans hammered out... there's been talk of Vegas, Cruise, Key West, or other FL beach. Hopefully something works out.

New Years Eve at Seacrets in Ocean City, MD

Ben Returns

Back in Atlanta after what seemed like forever. Spent the winter break mostly at home in Maryland doing... nothing. I spent my days watching MacGyver twice a day and I polished off 3 books, including the Da Vinci Code, which was a great book. I spent New Years in Ocean City at Seacrets, not New York like I originally planned. The highlight of the break would have to be the ski trip up to Windham Mountain in New York. 20 people in a house right near the slopes for the weekend, it was a blast. Skiing is my new favorite thing to do. Too bad I live in the south where they don't do skiing obviously. Anyways, back to the school routine. I just watched two crocodile dundee movies. My life rules!
